Lazy Susan Styles
Once you learn all the benefits of owning a lazy susan, you'll realize the name gives it a bad rap. Truth is, lazy susans are anything but lazy. They store, organize and make items easily accessible when they weren't once before. Not only do they come in all sorts of shapes like kidney, pie cut, full circle, half circle and D-shaped, but they also are manufactured in a plethora of materials such as wood, polymer, metal and wire.
What's Your Style? Choose your very own style to best suit your needs. Lazy susans come in a variety of styles, including one shelf, two shelf, three shelf, no shelf and door mount. Your one-shelf units can be found on a countertop, for instance, holding your kitchen essentials like napkins and salt and peppershakers. They're also great for storing canned goods in the pantry or condiments in the refrigerator. Two-shelf lazy susans are more often found behind cabinet doors. The smaller models can be perfect for spices or baby food jars. The larger two-shelf units are great for corner cabinets, giving you easily accessible storage space for cooking appliances, serving pieces and more.
One Shelf, Two Shelf, Three Shelf, & More Three-shelf susans are probably more often found in taller cabinets or pantries, letting you maximize the efficiency of the space by increasing storage capability while keeping everything organized. No shelf units are more often found in more open areas. You might see one on a kitchen table, ready to make serving dinner a breeze. Or, you might find one hidden underneath a TV, allowing for the perfect viewing angle. And door-mount lazy susans differ from the others, as they're not free standing yet they still give the optimal amount of usage. Whatever size, shape or style you're seeking, there's bound to be a unit just right for you. One Shelf Got some large items you need to store? Or don't have a lot of room but still desire easy access? Then the one-shelf lazy susan is for you. As the name insinuates, the one-shelf model has just one shelf. It can prove to be a perfect solution for a number of situations. For example, say you've got some tall pieces you want to store & maybe a blender, a stand mixer, or a tall pitcher. Put them on this innovative design, and watch the possibilities come to life. Use one in your spice cabinet to hold items such as nonstick cooking spray and a tall pepper mill. Put one under the kitchen sink to neatly organize tall cleaning agents. |

The One-Shelf Lazy Susan Isn't Just for Tall Items It can also be used with shorter items, keeping them all in place and within easy reach with just one spin. This carousel can be ideal for serving cream and sugar with your coffee or tea at the kitchen table. It can give you ideal access to canned goods in the pantry or cabinet. And it can organize condiments, offering the perfect solution to cluttered refrigerators. Most models are easy to clean and come with a lip to keep items from flying off when spinning. You can find one-shelf lazy susans in a variety of shapes, such as full or half moon, pie cut, kidney or D-shaped. You can also find them made out of wood, metal, wire and polymer. Although shapes and materials may differ, one thing remains the same: one-shelf lazy susans give you newfound opportunities.
Two Shelf Reach anything in your kitchen cabinet! Yes, that's right. Now, even you can reach items that are all the way in the back. No having to remove the items in front. No knocking things over as you pull stuff out from the back. With a two-shelf lazy susan, you just turn the shelves and viola! Your desired item comes front and center.
Lazy Susans Have Character
Some unit shelves turn independently of each other, and some turn dependently - in sync with each other. Either way, they save space, maximize the area, and make obtaining items so much easier. Some units are freestanding and spin on their own, while others are door-mounted and rotate with a push of the door. Smaller units can be great for accessing spices or organizing baby food jars. Larger units can be ideal for corner cabinets or pantries and store items that are heavier or taller such as a food processor, blender or stand mixer.
Three Shelf Tall cabinets and pantries unite! The three-shelf lazy susan is for you. Store your favorite snacks, baking goods or canned foods in one easy-to-access space. Shelves can be installed in a wall-angled corner cabinet, a 30" or taller base cabinet or cabinet floor. Each includes an adjustable telescoping shaft, enabling you to move the shelves to your desired height. The most popular models include the full-circle and half-circle shapes, the D-shape and the kidney or pie cut.
Maximize Efficiency
With a three-shelf lazy susan, your height might be compromised (meaning you can't store many tall items), but your efficiency for storage and access of smaller items has been tripled! Think about your space and how you could utilize every last bit of cabinet. Think vertically as opposed to horizontally. And find unused space to be a blessing in disguise. It's time to utilize all that the cabinetmaker gave you. Do it with a three-shelf lazy susan.
No Shelf End the passing conundrum! No shelf lazy susans present that opportunity for dining tables and countertops. Place a spacious turntable in the center of the table and load up with food dishes or condiments. Little Joey wants the ketchup? Give it a spin. Your friend needs an extra napkin? Coming right up.
Keep Your Items Organized and Within Easy Reach
Gather your friends or family around the table, and let them serve themselves. Use it to display a centerpiece, or let it be the centerpiece itself! Use one in your family room for puzzles, games, crafts and hobbies. The possibilities are endless. No-shelf susans are most often full-circle shaped - as opposed to half circle, pie cut, kidney or D-shaped - and made of wood, allowing you to mix or match your existing decor. Find maple, cherry, mahogany oak and more. Each base revolves smoothly on ball bearings, allowing for ease of movement.
Kitchen or Dining Room Tables Will Never be the Same
Passing heavy dishes will be a thing of the past. And you'll soon wonder why you didn't have a lazy susan before. When not being used for table service, the unit is ideal for storing things on the countertop. Find a perfect spot for oils and vinegars, salt and pepper, and packets of sugar. And keep napkins within easy reach at all times. Isn't it time you had a lazy susan on your tabletop?
Door Mount It's really in the cabinet construction or manufacturing process when you'll want to consider a door-mount lazy susan. Reason being is because the shelves must be attached to the door before installation and have to fit precisely in the door opening. Door mount, or door attached, lazy susan applications are more often found used with the pie-cut shape. This is basically the kidney-shaped shelf (which looks like a pie with a piece cut out) attached to the door. The shape allows for large capacity loads in a corner cabinet.
Just Push One of the Doors to Get the Rotation Started
Once inside, you'd most likely see shelves rotating dependently around a post that may be adjustable. The design gives you awesome access to hard-to-reach items in the back of a corner cabinet. The carousel trays provide a convenient way to organize and store items on rotating racks. Often, you'll find each shelf to include a lip to prevent items from falling off during their trek around the shaft. Door mount susans are available in one-shelf, two-shelf and three-shelf styles. You can find them in wood, metal, polymer, wire and more. If you already have an existing cabinet, then a door mount style is not the style you'd want to choose. A freestanding unit would be a much better choice. However, if you get the opportunity to be in on the decision-making process for your cabinet construction, by all means, request a door-mounted unit. You'll be glad you did.
